This turned out fantastic! I was not able to find marsala (wine) locally and I did not have time to head to a larger liquor store to source some, so I went against my own strong bias against "cooking" wines and used the marsala cooking wine near the vinegar at my grocery. I was worried about the salt content throwing it off, but thankfully it did not.

Do not use coffee mate vanilla creamer. It will not taste like tiramisu. Go to a wine shop or liquor store and ask. It's cheap, but the flavor is unmistakable.

I didn't know where to get or buy marsala so I used vanilla creamer for Coffe Mate and it turned out fine.

For those who don't know where to get or buy marsala use vanilla coffee-mate creamer. I did this when making tiramisu cupcakes and it came out fine. Just make sure that the amount is also 1 ounce if you do use coffee creamer.

Could always use Kahlua or Tia Maria? :)

Kaluha instead of marsala is really yummy, but I recommend cutting the amount of sugar you put in since kaluha is already pretty sweet.

Actually, omitting the Marsala would just make a very sweet coffee sauce. If you cook the marsala wine first, it should cook most of the alcohol out.

Also, make sure you use real Marsala wine and not Marsala cooking wine. The cooking wine has salt added to it and doesn't taste as good.

Just delete it from the recipe and make the syrup with just the coffee and maybe add some water instead of the marsala.
