Ingredients
Ingredients
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 12 cups plain popped popcorn (from 1/2 cup kernels or 2 microwave packages)
- 4 cups coarsely chopped small salted pretzels (7.5 ounces)
- 2 cups sugar
- Coarse salt
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
Directions
Coat a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. In a large bowl, toss together popcorn and pretzels. In a medium saucepan, bring sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 cup water to a boil over medium-high. Boil, undisturbed, until mixture is amber in color, 8 to 12 minutes. Remove pan from heat and slowly pour in cream (mixture will sputter). Immediately add marshmallows; stir until melted.
Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and pretzels and quickly stir with a rubber spatula to coat. Transfer mixture to dish and use a piece of plastic wrap coated with cooking spray to press evenly into dish. Sprinkle with coarse salt if desired. Let cool completely before cutting into 12 bars.

I have not tried this deliciously decadent sounding recipe as yet, however, I think I would prefer to substitute nuts for the pretzels when I do. I have a feeling that I might have to alter the recipe somewhat to do so simply because of the fat content in pecans. Then again... I know this will be a huge hit, mega calories and all!

****Pmsl****** I made those changes in my app and it looks like 1.8g fat and 127 calories just by subbing Splenda (for sugar)and half and half cream (for heavy(whipping) cream) - makes it a little more bareable as a treat!!!!! And she's right MSL, you guys should put your nutritional information on your pages !! It took me 2 minutes to get this info, sheesh!!

I have an app on my iPhone called Lose it and you can add any food item/recipe into it and get the break down - like calories etc. I figured it out for you - there are about 205 calories, 4.2 g fat per bar, BUT if you use Splenda and maybe a light half and half cream you could probably cut out alot of fat and calories (there are over 780 calories in a cup of white sugar alone and the cream alone adds 45g of fat......) Hope it helps, if you have an iPod or iPhone download the app :)

where is the Nutritional Information on any of your recipes. I need that information due to a special diet. I like most of your recipes, but I really need to know how much of certain items I am eating. I hope you can help me. I do enjoy these e mails and the television show.
Thanks
Pat
